Sweetgrass started in our home kitchen in 2021 and moved to a shared commercial space the following year. Everything is made in small batches — we bake what we can sell fresh, and we don’t overproduce.
What We Bake
- Sourdough — country loaf, seeded, and rye. 24-hour cold ferment, organic flour, sea salt
- Pastries — croissants, scones, and seasonal danishes. Real butter, no shortening
- Pies — fruit pies in season, pecan year-round, custom orders for events
- Custom cakes — simple, elegant, made to order. Two weeks notice preferred
Ingredients
We source flour from Carolina Ground in Asheville. Eggs come from Heritage Acres down the road. Butter is Plugrá. Sugar is organic. If we can get it local, we do.
Ordering
Pre-orders go up Monday, close Wednesday night. Pickup Friday or Saturday. Walk-up at the farmers market while supplies last.
Reviews
The sourdough is incredible — real 24-hour ferment with a crackling crust and open crumb. We pre-order every week now. The seasonal pies are also worth making a trip for. Everything tastes like someone actually cares about the food.
